Petényi Refractory Kaolin is a high-quality kaolin clay that has supplied the refractory and ceramics industries with premium raw material for over 100 years.

It is characterized by high fire resistance (up to 1700 °C), plasticity, and excellent workability. Large ceramic items and sanitary ware can be produced from it using casting technology.

Its applications cover a very wide range:

Metallurgical industry: Essential material for blast furnaces, iron and metal foundries, and the construction or repair of heat-treatment furnaces.

Stove industry: Production of ceramic stove tiles, chamotte slabs, fireplace elements, and refractory mortars. Stove masters familiar with mortar mixing technology often purchase it to make their own refractory or chamotte mortars.

Ceramics industry: Main material for products made by casting or pressing, such as facing bricks and porcelain stoneware (pirogranite) production.

Fire-resistant plasterboard: Acts as a fire-retardant additive.

Sports and landscaping surfaces: Extremely useful for improving water retention of clay tennis courts. It can store water between its silicate layers for a long time, preventing the expensive clay courts from becoming dusty and significantly reducing irrigation costs.

Pebble pavements: Used for stabilization; reference project: the entire surface of the park walkway built on Margaret Island.

Application methods vary depending on the industry and the intended use.
